How to Clean a Puppy Potty Tray

Cleaning might be the last thing you want to think about, but we've designed the tray to be quick and easy. The daily routine only takes a few seconds.

What is the daily routine?

  1. Lift off the top grate
  2. Throw away the dirty pad underneath
  3. Lay in a fresh pad and set the grate back on

That is the whole routine.

What about poop on the grate?

With puppies and small dogs, most poop drops through the grate onto the pad. The grate has a baked-on non-stick coating, so anything left behind lifts or wipes right off.

How does Erin clean the trays in our nursery?

With a whole litter on several trays, Erin lifts up all the grates, takes up the pads, sprays and wipes the base pans, sprays down the grates, and puts everything right back together. You can see the trays in our nursery in our Stairs Week video on the Doodles of NC channel.

How do I deep clean the tray?

Rinse the grate and the base pan in a shower or a tub with mild soap, and let both dry before you put the tray back together.

What pads fit the tray?

The tray holds a 21" x 21" pad. It's designed so the pad lays flat inside the tray, so the puppy can't grab and pull on it.

We have our own pads that are 21" x 21" and they come with adhesive tabs. The tabs are optional. Our newer pads absorb all the way to the edge.

How are the pads sold?

We sell them in a 200 pack, in four packs of 50. I know that might seem like a lot, but we only sell 200 at a time because shipping is expensive and a single pack of 50 just didn't make sense.

If you live in the US, you get free shipping on our pads.

You can order the 200 pack of puppy pads or the Little Wolves Potty Tray here.
